T₂ Distribution

T₂ measurements are performed at 6MHz increasing the signal to noise ratio and decreasing scan times by a factor of ~ 10.

The increased signal to noise ratio will produce more reliable T₂ distribution through a more stable inversion.

Green Imaging Technologies' GIT Systems software measures the T₂ distribution in rock core plugs cutoff yielding free fluid, bound water, clay bound water, T₂ and effective porosity. Log calibration and interpretation models are improved by using these more accurate values.

Analysis of the T₂ distribution, derived from the inversion of the NMR echo measurements provides a subdivision of the NMR total porosity into clay bound water (CBW), capillary-bound water (BVI) and free-fluid or bulk volume moveable (FFI or BVM).

The graph above shows results at 6MHz shifted to compare with 2MHz acquired results. Ratio measurements like FFI, BVI, etc. will be completely unaffected.
